About me
Dr. Robert Rico is a native San Antonian who grew up on the city's west side and is a Sidney Lanier High School graduate. He is the inaugural Director of Restorative Justice at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). He is an Assistant Professor of Practice at the College for Health, Community, and Policy. Robert served as a Police Officer for 20 years and was the founder and program coordinator of the Kendall County Restorative Justice Program. In 2012, he spearheaded and was a consultant at Ed White Middle School in San Antonio, one of Texas's first restorative justice pilot programs.
Robert earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, a Master of Public Administration degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Texas at Austin.
